As Clarke left post-Mount Weather and Lexa's betrayal, she thought she knew that Bellamy would give up on her. He would forget about her and just move on and be okay with the knowledge that she could take care of herself, that he'd find another co-partner in leading and maybe in friendship and then in life, and that was the sacrifice she was willing to make to keep everyone safe from her sins so she would 'bare it' so that they - that he - didn't have too.
