In this story, Harper's dad, (Christopher Dunn) was arrested for a theft that he knew nothing about. Topher was too young to understand what was going on then, so as he grew older, he didn't feel Harper's pain. After the arrest of her father, the once sweet and lively girl began to draw away from her family. She became stigmatized in middle school and always kept to herself.
