She had to responsibility to take care of her mother and younger sister. Maeve was eligible on the marriage market. Many suitors proposed to her in hopes getting her lands and titles. But Edward Guinness, new head of the Guinness family and who runs the brewery, knew he can't let that happen. He had became head of the family with his eldest brother, Arthur Guinness.
