Carlos had always had a pretty wild life, mainly because he was desperate for his mom's approval and constantly on edge due to the danger that loomed over the Isle. Growing up was tough, surrounded by the crazies on the streets, making it a struggle to get by. But then things took a turn when he got a shot at something big: he and three others were picked to attend the fancy Aurodon Prep. At first, Aurodon felt like a dream compared to his old life. The beautiful lawns, impressive buildings, and all that luxury were something else. But even in this paradise, there was a lot of tension, especially when it came to Chad Charming. When the four Villain kids get to Auradon, and Carlos meets Ben, he feels as though it is love at first sight. But the plan that Maleficent had assigned to them, and the fact that Audrey is still Ben's girlfriend gets in the way, and he decides to bury his feelings. But a small hiccup interrupts the whole plan when Mals love cookie makes Ben fall in love with Carlos! Running out of time, they decide to let Carlos go with it, and in the middle of all of it, he realizes his true feelings for Ben. But a big mistake from Mal leads to the destruction of Ben's life that Carlos tries to fix, which leads to dire situations.

After his first week at Auradon, Carlos De Vil is certain about two things: 1. He loves chocolate. 2. He has a huge crush on Ben Ben Beast ,on the other hand, isn't so sure about his feelings. Before the VKs came to Auradon was certain he was in love with his girlfriend, Audrey. Then when he first met Carlos those feelings for Audrey started to vanish. But when a new VK arrives at Auradon Prep and starts showing interest in Carlos, Bens feelings start to become a lot clearer. (This book is a Ben x Carlos story. It doesn't follow the events of the movie)

With his newly found villainy, Carlos goes about his dark days with his brother. The spells were causing thunderous clouds above Auradon Prep, and of course all eyes were on him already. With the new Villain Kids around the school grounds things are more intense, stressing, and down right chaotic. Not to mention the Rotten Kids had already banded with the Royals to correct the others. But nothing goes as it should, especially not when the bad guys are just wingin' it.

A mere week following Maleficent's attack on Auradon Prep, Carlos De Vil learns that the barrier surrounding the Isle of the Lost was beyond repair and the villains had been sailing the short distance between the two lands for seven days. Finally, they arrive, and begin to cause destruction, end friendships, murder and spark an entire war whilst attempting to take over Auradon.
