The Maitland-Deetzes may have been quick to forgive Betelgeuse for his past actions, but as he gradually begins to show that he's feeling more alone as time passes by, it reveals a side of the demon to the Maitlands that they never imagined they'd see.

Like, goes into the other universe the same age as they were in the other other world? Well, I thought this too. I was wrong. One minute, I'm a normal FIFTEEN YEAR OLD girl sitting on the sofa with my three legged cat, Guppy. Next thing I know, I'm FOUR YEARS OLD. IN A DIFFERENT HOUSE. IN A DIFFERENT F**KING FAMILY. Yeah. Young Lydia Deetz has always felt alone, surrounded by this dark sheet of morbid fascination for the undead. A cold ring from a broken engagement lies on her fingers as she fights this feeling of exploring the underworld, a place for only the dead. But as signs suggest that the wicked poltergeist, to whom she almost found her wed to, might be trying to contact her, Lydia is overcome by not only her ghost friends grave warnings, but by her own desires to sort out the only person she ever felt a connection too. But Betelgeuse has his own plans. He is sick of this waiting game and wants his freedom. And if that meant hurting the only soul who ever understood him, then so be it. Forced to separate Beetlejuice and Lydia, the two try to contact each other to no avail. Things only get stranger when Beetlejuice disappears for two months with no memory of where he had been.How far will these best friends go to get back with each other? And how far can they go when they are predicted to be the cause of a Neitherworld apocalypse coming?

After returning to Connecticut to move into your new home, you quickly become acquainted with your new neighbors, the Deetz. You take a liking to their only daughter, Lydia, who you are soon given the task of babysitting for a month whilst her parents go off on their honeymoon. You quickly come to realize this house is not what it seems once you meet Lydia's mysterious green-haired uncle. (Please share any ideas or spelling mistakes in the comments! Well... it can only get better from here I suppose. After a pretty nasty fight with his mother (ruler of the Nether World), Beetlejuice flees to the world of breathers to get away from her. With seemingly no way of getting rid of him, the government decides to send him to human school under heavy supervision. Meanwhile, Lydia Deetz is a grieving 14-year-old who just moved into town with her dad and step-mother. She becomes intrigued by the other new kid and decides it would be nice to get to know him as it seems no one else will. Friendship, fluff, and found families ensue. Authors note: yeah, so this is an AU that absolutely NO ONE asked for. Anyways, first off this is NOT beetlebabes, these babies are the purest form of friends and also Lydia's a lesbian in this. Not sure if I'll give her a girlfriend or not but yeah. So... enjoy. ... please
