Fifteen-year-old Delores is not thrilled about spending her summer in a quiet little town far from the city life she knows. Gone are the busy streets, buzzing energy, and familiar faces replaced by corner stores, baseball fields, and rows of nearly identical houses. For a girl who hates change and is already struggling with her mental health, the last thing she wants is to start over, make new friends, and pretend to belong. Then she meets Blake a tall, blonde, small-town boy who seems like the complete opposite of her. At first, she writes him off as boring, basic, and nothing special. But as the long summer days stretch on, she begins to see him differently. Slowly, the walls she built around herself start to come down. Maybe this new town has more to offer than she thought. Maybe this summer won't be so bad after all.
