The victor always gets to write the history of the war they fought, though true, or false, the victor is made a hero, while the loser is demonized and made evil. In this story though, we tell the story of the less fortunate, the losers, the demons and devils who were laid waste to during the war between heaven and hell.

The True Story of The Theban Legion: According to Eucherius of Lyon, ca. 443-450, the Legion of Thebes, Egypt quartered themselves in the western part of the kingdom until the Roman emperor Maximian ordered them to march to Gaul. The empire needed reinforcements against rebels from Burgundy. Commanding the Legion was Saint Maurice (Mauritius), Candidus, Innocent, and Exupernis (Exuperius), all currently venerated as saints by the Catholic Church. At the Swiss town of Saint Maurice-en-Valais, then called Agaunum, Maximian ordered the Legion decimated, condemning every tenth man to death for refusing to worship him. The men of the Legion swore never to honor a man before God, so Maximian's punishment of decimation continued until none were left alive.

He knew the command was just yet his heart trembled, for he could not silence the pull he felt toward the world below.
