At a young age his parents offered him to the orange flame demon his village saw as a god, and hoped it would spare them in the harsh winter they were having. The demon took the child as the offering but when the demon possessed Dion's body the two fought for control which caused Dino to go on a rampage on his village, killing everyone. Scared of what he did and what he has become, Dino isolated himself to the shrine that was made for his village's so called God, so he wouldn't hurt anyone else ever again. But unfortunately there were those from the nearby village who didn't believe in the tale of the boy of the shrine. A group of boys go to see if the rumors were true, and they find out the hard way that it's all true. One is left with burn mark on his face as a reminder after which the village below sends for an exorcist to deal with the boy, Father Shiro Fujimoto. But Shiro chooses to take the boy and train him in the way of an exorcist as well as some other kids from the village. Now, Dino is one of the best exorcist Cross Academy has, rivaling that of Shura Kirigakure. And Shura is maybe the one person who understands Dino more then anyone else.
