The one where a fatal day had a turn for the better when Simon Neil adopted me.

She didn't deserve this. Before he even spoke to her, he knew that life had done her wrong, that she had been dealt the upper hand. Her skin was pale against the blue blankets, her thin wrists had been laid resting over her stomach, and there was still blood crusted under her chin. In that moment she looked so fragile and small, and almost immediately Simon's fears melted away and a strong, paternal instinct he had never felt before took its place, freezing him to the spot and gripping his body. He knew, in that moment only one thing- an animalistic, primative throb in the bottom of his heart that took over all other feeling and thought. Protect.
