Back in 2015, Moviepilot, an online pop culture site written by fans for fans, held a writing contest: Pick your favorite movie character and give us his or her origin story (if they didn't have one already). I chose Peter Venkman from Ghostbusters, the skeptical parapsychologist with the dry sense of humor, immaculately played by Bill Murray. I wondered how Venkman, who obviously believed the whole parapsychology thing was a bunch of hokum and an easy way to make a living, would choose parapsychology in the first place. Was he just a con man at heart? Or was there something more? The story that follows is that exploration. I like to think it gives the character a little more depth, maybe a little more pathos? At any rate, it does give him reason to excel in parapsychology, even if a big part of him doesn't quite believe it all. It also gave me a chance to tie the Ghostbusters origin to my alma mater, Ohio University. Athens, Ohio, where the school is located, is considered one of the most haunted places on Earth. And Room 428 in Wilson Hall has a history all its own (read about it here: https://athensohio.com/wheretoplay/haunted-athens/wilson-hall-room-428/) The story won the contest, I'm happy to say. Now that Moviepilot is no more, I hope it finds a new group of readers who enjoy this little bit of fanfiction.

Though, the holiday doesn't really mean much to them. After filming, they all hang out at the hotel and they all get drunk. They then go for a drive, but get into a fatal car crash because of the traffic caused by the unexpected blizzard. Yet they wake up the next morning, in their beds, on groundhog Day. The jokers realize what's going on, and decide to take advantage of it. Find out what happens. (IT'S BASICALLY IF THE JOKERS WERE IN THE GROUNDHOG DAY MOVIE.) EXPLAINING THE TITLE: so like groundhog Day but with a ferret cus they never cared for groundhog Day and celebrated it with their friends, and now they're stuck with only each other. and Murr is basically a ferret. Soo yeah that's the title 😁

Have your parents ever threatened to "sell you to the Gypsies"?!..... well that is EXACTLY what happened to Nurani Bella-Cyra when she was a child.... she was given to a woman who had one son who was born mute.... she and the boy grew up thinking that they were actually brother and sister and were the best of friends.... the ONLY friends that they EVER had.... a few years later everything changed.... the boys mother dies and they were left to fend for themselves.... they only had each other.... that is until a few officers found the young boy scrounging for food in the forest that they ended up calling home.... the boy ended up being sent to an orphanage and Nurani ended up being found by Charles Townsend not to long after.... seeing how lonely and worried she felt from the separation of her and the boy Charles used his pull with many agencies to find out what happened to him.... once found Charles took her to see the boy at the all boys orphanage then after that first meeting she began sneaking in to see the boy at night.... much to the nuns distaste.... as adults Nurani and the boy once again live together taking care of one another as they once did long ago.... There is one thing that live within these two.... something that they believe must stay buried as deep within themselves as it can be buried.... a burning love that because they believe they are related they cannot bring out.... but that's ok right?!.... after all they in one form or another once again have each other.... just not in the way they want too....
