The Life of Maria Callas is a sweeping, dialogue-driven novel that traces the astonishing, heartbreaking journey of the 20th century's greatest opera legend. Moving from her birth in Manhattan in 1923 to her solitary, untimely death in Paris in 1977, this historically accurate fiction goes beyond the headlines to uncover the true Maria-the fiercely ambitious artist and the vulnerable woman behind the curtain.Follow Maria's transformation from an unpolished girl surviving war-torn Greece into La Divina, a force of nature who redefined opera with her electrifying voice and uncompromising standards. Through intimate, electrifying, and emotionally raw dialogues, you will step directly into her world. Witness her grueling vocal training, her meteoric rise at La Scala and the Met, and her legendary collaborations. Feel the burning ambition that led her to reject roles she deemed unworthy, choosing artistic integrity over wealth and favor. But the brightest lights cast the deepest shadows. This book peels back the public glamour to expose Maria's private battleground. Experience her painful conflicts with her mother Evangelia, her complicated marriage to Battista Meneghini, and her fierce struggle for autonomy in an industry ruled by powerful men. Through betrayal by treacherous managers and the loyalty of true friends, Maria balances unmatched brilliance with deep loneliness. Meticulously researched and rich in historical truth, this novel does not just recount history-it breathes life into it. It is an intimate portrait of extraordinary discipline, agonizing sacrifice, and profound triumphs. From global ovations to her quiet Parisian exile, this is the unforgettable story of an artist who dared to live, love, and sing entirely on her own terms.

Full disclosure... I wrote this story years ago during the 1980s when still in college. It started as a class journaling project. As disclosed in the story, the writing was motivated when I attended Kim's wedding, the friend from the story who was Vickie's college roommate and, to this day, her lifelong friend since grade school. There were recent tweaks made to the content, near its end, that were [a]rtificially [i]nfluenced in the style of one of my favorite authors, Sam Shepard. In general, the story is about those moments in life that shape us and is a journey through young love. Enjoy-

This book is a cinematic narrative nonfiction military biography of a World War II soldier. Built from military records, unit histories, photographs, family history, and historical research. *** In 1944, James W. Foster left the mountains of East Tennessee and entered a war unlike anything he had ever known. Serving as a half-track driver with Company C, 48th Armored Infantry Battalion, 7th Armored Division - the "Lucky Seventh" - James crossed into Europe and found himself in the middle of some of the fiercest fighting of World War II. From the battlefields of Northern France to the brutal fighting in Holland, the days grew colder, the fighting grew harder, and the men around him became more than soldiers. They became brothers. Then came December. As the German army launched its desperate offensive through the Ardennes, the 7th Armored Division was thrown into the fight. James and the men of Company C were sent toward Belgium, where snow-covered forests, artillery, armor, and infantry would collide in a battle for survival. For James, one day would change everything. The Last Track Out tells the true story of an ordinary American soldier caught in an extraordinary war - the places he went, the men he fought beside, and the experiences that followed him long after the guns fell silent. This is not the story of a famous general or a celebrated hero. It is the story of one soldier. James W. Foster. And this is how his war began.

**P.S. This story is more reality than fiction.** It is inspired by my own life, but it follows the path I never took. It is about the words I was too afraid to say, the feelings I kept hidden, and the choices I still wonder about years later. Sometimes, a life can change because of one decision. One confession. One moment of courage. This story asks the questions that has stayed with me since I was younger: If I had chosen differently, spoken when I stayed silent, or allowed myself to believe that I could be chosen too, who would I be today? I will never know what that life might have looked like. So I wrote it instead. ✨ Based on a true story ✨ They were supposed to drift apart. Different worlds. Different lives. Different futures. Yet every time fate gave them a chance to disappear from each other's lives, another impossible coincidence brought them back together. Some connections refuse to break. The real question is... why? It wasn't love at first sight. It wasn't even supposed to be love at all. But when coincidences won't stop dragging two people together, what else can you call it? I try to post every Friday and Wednesday

"A child who listens to the elders does not walk into a trap. You are the First Seed, but even a seed needs the shade of an old tree to grow straight." To the world, Yaw was just another cry in the humid air of Ghana's Ashanti Region. But to his family, he was the First Seed, the bearer of a thousand unfulfilled dreams. Born into a home rich in love but shadowed by biting poverty, Yaw's life becomes a fierce battle for survival, dignity, and purpose. From the bustling, chaotic streets of Madina hawking sachet water under a blistering sun, to hanging off the sides of roaring trotros as a mate, Yaw learns the hard way that pride is a luxury you swallow when you have a family to lift up. Guided by the fierce sacrifice of his mother, his "Woman King" and the timeless ancestral wisdom of his grandmother, he fights to pave a path toward a better future. But just as the light begins to break and his dreams of becoming an educator take root, an unannounced shadow threatens to wash everything away. The Shadows of Life is a raw, deeply moving Ghanaian memoir of resilience, the crushing weight of being the firstborn, and the unbreakable bonds of family. It is a powerful reminder that no matter how deep the darkness, a seed's only job is to grow.

He watched. He waited. He killed. And then he vanished. In the summer of 1990, the peaceful college town of Gainesville, Florida, became the setting for one of the most horrifying killing sprees in American history. Five young students, full of dreams and promise, were found savagely murdered in their own homes-stabbed, mutilated, and posed in grotesque positions meant to shock, terrify, and confuse investigators. Panic swept through the town. Students fled. The media descended. A serial killer was on the loose. But this was no ordinary murderer. Danny Rolling, later dubbed The Gainesville Ripper, was a drifter with a violent past and a disturbing obsession with fame, power, and death. Raised in a broken home under the abuse of a sadistic police officer father, Rolling's descent into darkness was long and tortured. His crimes weren't random-they were rehearsed, ritualistic, and calculated. And they were only part of a longer string of atrocities. This book tells the true story behind the mask that would later inspire the fictional killer Ghostface from the Scream movie franchise. From Danny Rolling's tormented childhood and early crimes to the Gainesville murders, nationwide manhunt, shocking courtroom confessions, and final execution, Behind the Mask exposes the truth that Hollywood could only hint at. This isn't fiction. This isn't a movie. This is what really happened.

Grimes survived a broken neck, returned to become a heavyweight champion, built a wrestling family, found his greatest rival, became a podcaster and mentor, and ultimately entered the Hall of Fame before being forced to leave his mask behind. The victories are here. So are the scars. This is the story behind the character, the championships, and the man underneath the mask. Welcome to My Nightmare.

In the early 90's, the Malaysian underground music scene simmered under the shiny exterior of the mainstream juggernaut. Rock kapak ruled the charts, while pop powerhouses remained pillars of the predominantly Malay industry. But a revolution was inevitable. Underground bands, fired up by the global phenomenon known as 'alternative', would rise above the indifference and disdain to build a dynamic and meaningful scene. Uniting the different subgenres of punk, metal and indie pop under one roof; a movement emerged to reflect the zeitgeist of a generation. And they did it their way; from the fiery gigs to the idealistic fanzines, to the hundreds, if not thousands of demo tapes that passed through eager hands. The Do-It-Yourself (DIY) spirit kept these bands and activists hungry and motivated. Then came a totally unexpected breakthrough. Four young boys in KL calling themselves Old Automatic Garbage (OAG), released a debut album in English boasting their own brand of '60's crunchy pop fuzz'. Led by the hit song, '60's TV', the album made the mainstream audience sit up and take notice. Produced by a new label in town called Positive Tone, OAG would defy the odds and earn both commercial and critical success. This is a book about how it all came together. And then some ...
