Update: due to incessant uses of bots on Wattpad, i am beginning the process of migrating my stories to other sites, I'm not sure which ones yet, but the prologue for this story just got transferred into "Royal Road" "AO3" and "WebNovel" I will continue to post here on Wattpad for a while longer due to sentimentality. September 23rd, 2560, AI, Naomi Hello captain, to preface the ongoing conflict with the Banished forces, our resources are draining faster than anticipated, Marines, Spartan IV's, and even our Sangheili allies like the arbiter are being affected with the escalating conflict. ONI however is... they're getting on my nerves, they're being more paranoid than usual and I have an idea why, a field report in 2559 was filed during the Spirit of Fire issue, during their skirmises with the Banished, but that's not what's scaring ONI, at least i don't think.. in that report, a squad of marines under interim commander "Major Vaughan" have reported suspicious activity near firebase Omikron... something about a shifting shape with bioluminescent curtains within. a strange report to say the least, but whatever it is it's got ONI's panties in a bunch... AI Naomi, signing out. PS: i apologize but I must advise caution, I believe this universe is far larger than we all anticipated. --------- Authors Note: this Story is going to be INCREDIBLY slow.

When he is thrown into a society of people with special abilities and a game where there can only be one victor, he has to gain his classmates' allegiance, execute dangerous plans with lives on the line, and survive. But against a stronger, craftier, and more mysterious force, Thirteen has to wage war while uncovering the truth about the game and keeping a deadlier secret. And this time, gambling with lives may not be enough to win. From the author of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘢 and the award-winning novella, 𝘒𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘦, comes a world where the powerful won't always win and the canny won't always survive. Journey aboard a bus like no other, where every passenger is both unique and unsettlingly identical. As Scout and their sisters speed toward an uncertain future, they grapple with a horrifying legacy. 'Model Organisms' takes you on a gripping ride through a world where science, myth, and reality blur, forcing you to question the very fabric of identity. Prepare for a story that challenges not just the characters, but you, the reader-because some stories are written in our genes, waiting to be read. Or are they?

My name is Emmi Basilides. I am an orphan living in the slums of Medio City. Every slumdog I know underestimates me. They think I am a dumb kid who could not survive alone, not without my brother, but I have been through so much, and I have never asked anyone to fight my battles. My mother abandoned me when I was five years old and here I am - about to reach the grand old age of sixteen. Believe me, anyone who can survive ten years in this place deserves respect. Ever since my brother Arturo started working for a mysterious man, our lives changed dramatically. At first, Arturo had money and it went to his head, but then he disappeared. I thought I was never going to see him again, until he escaped... from prison. That is when things really got crazy. Our friend Killow was infected by nanites which gave him superpowers, but also turned him evil. And now we have no idea where he is. Oh, and I forgot to mention our friend Dynah who also has superpowers and is non-evil. The plague came and my best friend Lel died. It broke my heart, but I will not be beaten by this world. 'Live for the moment' is what Lel used to say, and I will move forward in her honour. I will prove to my brother I am not a kid any more, and I will show our rotten country that this dumb, blonde, 'bottom-leveller' is a force to be reckoned with.

In 2815, a catastrophic eruption of Mount Krakoa occurred, 1000 years after the first eruption of the same scale. The eruption, known as Krakoa's Wrath, impacted not only the citizens of the Majantara Archipelago, but the entire world. Earth was already in a state of devastation due to greed for land ownership and rapid deforestation leading to infertile and toxic land. Despite this, humanity had found ways to adapt and live alongside the devastation using technology and modifications. However, Krakoa's Wrath destroyed all that humanity had built and prided themselves on for centuries. The world was thrown into chaos and people resorted to stealing and invading to survive, but options were limited as some regions were impossible to enter or steal from. It's a different story for Majantara, who was on the top of every thief's priority. The weather was always nice, the archipelago was all green as far as eyes could see, no hostile creatures, and on top of that, Majantarans were known pacifists. It's truly an ideal place to salvage for the thieves. Unlike other regions, Majantara did not suffer heavily from the Wrath. Despite being the closest to Mount Krakoa, there were no casualties, minimum geographical changes, no anomalies, and no calamities. Anyone could travel there with ease. And this, included a bunch of thieves trying to enter as well. Yet, of all numerous attempts of trying to steal something from there, not a single thief had ever succeeded entering the archipelago. It was all thanks to the strong and admirable Guardians of Majantara, making sure that the archipelago stayed safe for as long as they have existed.
