As the Nashville winter sets in, two milestone birthdays loom over the country music world: Darlene Johnson is turning 20, marking her final transition out of her "teenage dreamer" years , and the legendary Dolly Parton is turning 80. While the industry is planning a televised, high-glamour "Diamond Gala" to celebrate them both, Darlene feels the familiar weight of "imposter syndrome". She worries that a massive, polished event doesn't reflect the raw, authentic journey they have shared-from writing songs in a secluded Tennessee cabin to baking brownies and making chocolate truffles together in Dolly's kitchen. Darlene wants to give Dolly something meaningful-something that captures the "mountain wisdom" and grounding influence Dolly has provided throughout her career. Meanwhile, Dolly senses Darlene's anxiety about leaving her youth behind and entering her twenties as a headlining artist. Dolly, always one for a "shared sparkle," suggests a secret getaway before the big gala.

it's Alice's 27th Birthday today, but she is in no mood to celebrate. All she is feeling is emptiness inside her. She wanted to be anywhere but here. While staring at the blank wall all she can think is that she is good for nothing, a loser, demotivated person. Her thoughts were interrupted when her Dad came with a box in his hand. He gave it to her and she realizes that this gift is from her Mom, who died due to cancer. Along with the gift she notices a letter which was written by her Mom during her last days.
