When 14 year old high school freshman Melanie (Mel) Jacobs falls in love with a girl in their science class, they has no idea what they're getting themself into. Meet Mel. Mel is your average nerdy gay kid in high school. They identify as non-binary and bisexual. They're quiet, smart, and shy. Although that doesn't stop them from befriending many of the people around them. They have stuff pretty good in their opinion. Then, they meet a girl named Samantha (Sam) Brown. In a matter of weeks the two get together. Soon, Mel is brought to the attention that Sam is a terrible person. Now, they must figure out how to get out of this relationship, as well as juggle around school, friend issues, and their identity as a whole.
