What happened when two friends want to be more than friends.
It wasn't the drinks okay, maybe a 'little' but mostly it was timing.
Somewhere between Shoto still asking about soba and Bakugo threatening to leave for the third time, two friends realized they were paying less attention to the chaos and more attention to each other. The group blurred into background noise, and suddenly every glance felt intentional.
They'd always been comfortable too comfortable, maybe. The kind where leaning in didn't feel new, just 'noticed' . A joke lingered a second too long. A look held a second longer. And then came that dangerous, alcohol-assisted honesty
"Hey... have we always been like this?"
Cue the pause. The kind that could either save a friendship or completely rewrite it.
Neither of them backed out.
A hand brushed. Stayed. No dramatic gasp, no fireworks. just a quiet 'oh' . Like realizing you've been reading the same page over and over, and only now understanding the story.
Around them, Mina was still loud, Kirishima was still hyping everything up, and Iida was probably internally filing a complaint about "reckless emotional conduct."
But for those two?
Yeah... they were definitely not just friends anymore.
