Roman Tucker is the Kansas City Chiefs' newest cornerback and former cornerback for the Atlanta Falcons. New to the city and to the team, Chiefs star QB, Dave DeLeon takes him under his wing. Without a place to stay or family to stay with in his new city, Roman takes Dave up on an offer to stay in his spare bedroom over the summer and also watch over Riley, Dave's little sister. A drunk first night turned into a full-blown relationship over the private time they spent together. An ignorant Roman wanted to tell Dave the second he returned, but a weary Riley wanted to wait. Rumors begin to circulate around the NFL and when Dave heard, he did some investigating of his own. Unable to handle the mental stress and strain of feeling lied to and betrayed, he begins to subtly sabotage their relationship and it begins to affect their home lives and life on the field. Fed up with the antics after several attempts to rectify the situation in a private manner, Roman creates a paparazzi sh*t storm after confessing to the relationship publicly. Shortly after the storm, Riley receives a call from her brother's best friend and she and Roman rush to her home. Multiple fights ensue before police show up, a gun goes off, an accidental overdose happens and two people are left fighting for their lives. When one doesn't pull through, the entire family is rocked and two professional careers are left to hang in the balance. Riley takes every attempt to make something happen to bring the focus back to football, but after so many failed attempts, she's feeling the pressure of a world of failure around her... and she starts to wonder if this is really the end of life as they all know it.

So, I tried being deep and thought-provoking when in reality the truth sets the soul free and that! That is what people want to hear about. So here goes nothing... This is an attempt at a contemporary, UK based adaptation of Nina Simone's Four Women and a comment upon privilege and marginalisation. The story follows four British women of colour, four non white women across seven weeks that will prove to be fairly pivotal in their journeys of self discovery and ultimately a lesson in how we are so much easier to rule when we are divided.
