Afro-Latina dancer Isa Jones grew up in the Midwest as a minority in one of the top private schools in the country. She faces many trials and obstacles being one of the few black students at Greenport Private School. Isa's life was going as planned until a mysterious kid shows up to school and causes her to lose everything she had worked hard for while at Greenport. Several years pass and Isa finds that the same person She blames for her past failure is the only one who can help her become a successful dancer. Will Isa hold on to the past or will she let go and see Wes Ducre for who he actually is?

Aliana always loved dance. Latin music, in particular, set her soul and body ablaze with an unabashed fire she never knew how to cool. Merengue, reggaeton, salsa, you name it; all brimming with a cultural significance she has tried to rediscover due to the absence of her mother in her life who connected her to those things.
