In a world where power whispers through shadows and death wears a cold, patent leather smile, two girls are forged by opposite fires. One with everything to lose. One with nothing left to lose. But when ambition meets survival in the shadow of a velvet-wrapped empire, rivals become weapons-and weapons don't get to choose what they protect, or what they destroy. Their bullets were never meant to collide. But fate had already pulled the trigger.

How thin is the line between truth and deceit? Does it really matter? What if one was the other? How long does it take for spite to become a hinderance rather than a motivator? It's hard to say, perhaps there is no line. Maybe there is no difference between a fool, a scholar, and a king. !!!DISCLAIMERS!!! This fic's production started pre-shadow milk update. While shadow milk's world of deceit will not be delved into in the fic at all most likely, designs and storylines will not align with cannon. Imagine this as an alternate universe rather than a continuation of the story. ~*characters, places, and items belong to devsisters, and other stories brought in to inspire this fanfiction*~

I will be showing the designs of the characters from the story here and information. Some other random stuff might be posted here as well. I might not post that often here since I tend to procrastinate on drawings soooo, yeah.

(not my cover art) Espresso and Madeleine were polar opposites, and they hated each other for it. The dim Espresso had always been inverted and liked staying away from people to read and study. On the flip side, the very bubbly Madeleine was loud, and very outgoing in what he did. Though the two had been great friends up until middle school, they started to drift apart due to their contradicting ideals.
