A light named Ja'karsen Lee and at this side, Fairity Winter: two unlikely heros from the wrong side of the tracks with a bondage of mutual hatred firmly lashed between them. But change is never easy and as the world turns to watch the young heroes begin to rebuild, Ja and Winter must contend with a newcomer that neither one was betting on: Love.

In ancient times they numbered in the trillions, now they were scattered, divided, and fighting to keep their traditions alive. For Malik, a Maven of the Reader line none of that mattered. His life was spent living the life of a nomad, traveling the earth plane , eating and bedding women as he went. While vacationing on beautiful island, he's summoned home to Neptune City by his adoptive father an investigator to assist in a missing persons case. Only this case is not as it appears and Malik will soon discover secrets about the Mavens, his family, and most importantly- himself.

Plasmasonic (To̅mi Andrei) once again finds herself in the DC Universe and meets Vixen (Mari McCabe). This couldn't have happened at a better time either. Multiple supervillains have been seemingly compelled or hired by some unknown force to cause trouble in the city of Detroit. There's also a new girl in the fashion world who has a bone to pick with Vixen. One year after Jefferson Pierce retired as Black Lightning, Freeland is once again caught in the crossfire between street wars and cosmic destiny. The resurrection of Lala (Tattoo Man) and the arrival of Brother Eye mark the beginning of a new crisis. As Jefferson contemplates a life away from the mask, Mosi Carter/Kwaku Anansi intervenes-revealing that both Jefferson and Lala's fates are tied directly to the coming Final Crisis. Anansi brings Lala into the Ancestral Plane, unlocking a hidden layer of his metagene known as "Body Art Animation"-turning his haunted tattoos into living weapons. Now, Freeland faces both the rise of Tattoo Man the Antihero and the looming invasion of Darkseid's heralds. With the Outsiders fractured, Jefferson must reclaim his mantle not just for Freeland, but for the survival of Earth Prime itself and his town of Freeland.
