It wasn't always so simple. If Dreykov had taken every girl with genetic potential into his Red Room, there would be too many girls who didn't make it, lying around, lifeless. Instead, he found another way. Astoria Academy was a Red Room project. A disciplinary ballet school for young girls aged four through thirteen. Children of the elite were called to attend this beautiful boarding school, but they weren't the real targets. No, those girls were much too whiny and spoiled, had people who loved them. They were a cover, for the real students. The young girls sent on scholarships, most of them orphans, who would spend only a year being assessed at Astoria, before being sent to the Redroom for actual Widow training. What happens when Natalia Romanov (Natasha Romanoff) is sent to temporarily become a teacher for this school, to work with the future widows? What if she meets a young girl, Astoria herself, who will change everything?
