Have you ever been in a toxic work environment where the boss is a charismatic, gaslighting entity, whose claws pop out when she suddenly realises that you are no longer playing her games? To add spice, she carelessly promised nothing short of greatness to external clients (without your knowledge) --even if it were work that the organisation simply does not do! Her refusal to acknowledge operational realities and limitations was simply reframed as "challenges." Whatever she promised, she was poised to take all the credit. If anything went wrong, it was due to YOUR failure to rise to a challenge! She simply took no blame! Her lies were carefully thought-out deflections to hide from her managerial deficiencies. This is my story and how I dealt with this situation.

Everyone has secrets. We treasure them, we keep them, we treat them like our nearest and dearest - our prize possesions. It's what you do when they come out that counts. And it's how you try to stop that from EVER happening. Especially when they're life-changing.
