This collection traces my journey through the fragile and tangled years of teenagehood. Through each poem, you would get a glimpse of raw and unfiltered moments of love, heartbreak, loss, confusion and even hints of clarity. The title is more than just a name : it is a metaphor of growth and acceptance . Each year, each experience was a petal unfolding . Some were soft like teenage innocence while others were jagged, stained with blood, weathered by heartbreak and resilient in reaching. Some were glowing red under the eternal sunlight of euphoria while others were withered due to the droughts of insecurity and floods of pent up emotions . But together these roses compose the bouquet of my becoming. A young lady who was wronged as a child for being cursed and a bad luck.The village was to protect her for they knew of her abilities and the consequences they world would have if the tide and darkness takes a hold but for fear of her they left the girl and for got what had happened 6 years ago as she grows older so does her anger. This story will be told in poem, as her and the dark forces grow closer and stronger so does her wrath. Would she be able to come back to the light?or will she stay in the darkness? Who is she? Why was she chosen?
