Found at the back of my wardrobe some twenty-six years or so after writing it! Once upon a time, it was very relevant. Nowadays, things are better .... but while the spectre of apartheid may no longer haunt South Africa (officially, at least) the analogy between blood-sports and racial (and other) prejudices do still exist. Maybe I remember it correctly, maybe I don't, maybe you know it already. There is a chance that you watched the games when everyone enjoyed it. When you could taste that bloodlust they experienced.
