The Crystal Gems have proposed that the Diamonds come to earth to see if the planet is worth saving, offering to give up without a fight if they disagree (this being a last resort). There was nothing more terrifying than a defective Gem, especially a defective Pearl. And no one was more scared of her than Blue Pearl, who was perfect. When Blue Diamond's army kidnapped Rose's Pearl for ransom, Blue Pearl is ordered to watch the defective Gem. The Pearl was dangerous, blunt, and everything Pearls weren't supposed to be. The future looks good for Steven. The gems living on Homeworld and Earth are pretty happy, no one seems to be unhappy in sight. Except the group of gems living on neptune.

Blue Pearl is inspired by the Pearl, and plans to leave Homeworld and join, The Rebellion, though she was finally convinced to leave Homeworld once her friend Sapphire left Homeworld for a Ruby gem and Lapis was stuck in a cage, charged with betrayal of Homeworld.

You're new, well, to Yellow's colony. You messed up in the past and now trying to redeem yourself in Yellow Diamond's colony. You once belonged to Blue Diamond and was her Sapphire for a long time after her last Sapphire became a rebel and moved along with the Crystal Gems.
