Bakugo tames him, and the others gain its trust not long after. Yet Bakugo doesn't know the dragon's name, or that he is a shapeshifter. They'll receive a quest that includes lots of traveling, Kirishima being brought along on the serious journey for exporting. He becomes closer to his friends, but even closer with only one person.
