But then 100 teenagers, kids who were locked up for worthy or unworthy crimes they may or may not have committed, were sent to the ground. Because The Ark was dying. Iris wasn't one of them. She was born on the ground, born a Grounder. But she was never truly one of them either. She lost that privilege when men in hazmat suits abducted the children of her village, setting fire to the remaining grounders. She was brought to Mount Weather, where they performed experiments and tests on her. Her screams still echoed within the bunker. She'd escaped, fourteen years later, and found that the people from space had finally made their way back down. But she couldn't trust them, and she couldn't ask for help. So Iris would pocket items.
