Somewhere, Northwest, 1951 Sue Lee could smell gasoline; apparently, they stopped for fuel. She was about to shout when she heard the creaking sound of the trailer door opening. "Dammit, he must have a set of extra ears. He's going to use that blasted peek hole again." She quickly tore a piece of her blouse, shoving it down the hole, watching it drop onto the pavement before rolling back into bed, moaning to cover up her movements, hoping he would assume she was still in a drug-induced state. Sue Lee's head was turned toward the wall but could see a small circle of light from the peek hole when he opened it. "Come in here, you bastard, I will kill you." The peek hole light went out. In a short time, they were moving again. They seem to be driving endlessly. "When did he sleep? Dammit, at this rate, I'll run out of clothing." She looked again where he must have torn her blouse, carrying her into the trailer. Tearing it once more, she shoved another piece of clothing through the hole, hoping to leave a trail. "Maybe I should leave something more provocative, but I need my bra to choke the bastard."

"Papi?" "Si mija" "Why do we have so many flags?' "Flags?" Usnavi turned around from where he was sweeping and looked at the flags hanging behind the bodega counter. La bandera dominicana. La bandera cubana. La bandera puertorriqueña. La bandera mexicana. Four flags. Four stories. One bodega.

Zvi has worked at this Crown Heights candy emporium since he was tall enough to reach the register. Tonight's his last night.

Bodega is a borrowed word from when Spaniards colonized the Philippines for more than three hundred years. It is use as a noun for rooms that are use to store objects and to keep things hidden away from prying eyes. Kaloy Dinugo-Marquez is turning twenty-one years old and he's feeling ambivalence from it. His family decided to celebrate his birthday inside one of their prominent family business' bodega. He understands why they have to do it, but he still not sure whether he should receive his family's gift or turn it down.

Bodega relives his life experiences much like Forest Gump did on that bench, only this time he's hungover in a diner.

Your side, their side, and the truth that lies in the middle of both. Just as there must be those who protect the wellbeing of the inherently good there must be those who protect the wellbeing of the inherently evil. Its as simple as that. The story of a boy with a borrowed name.

Consider this the real story rewrite version of the original. Similar premise, I just want to take this one more seriously. Y/N just moved to the Big Apple, looking to get a job as a professional hero. They get paired up with Hellhound, a no-nonsense rescue hero who doesn't seem interested in anything besides getting the job done. The local bodega owner, Celestino, seems awfully similar to Hellhound, but he doesn't recognize Y/N at all. Y/N wants to get his attention in more ways than one, but... how do they do that without revealing their identity to either persona?

When Alexa's apartment building in burns down, she and her sister Naomi and her son Alex move from Crown Heights NYC to Washington Heights NYC. ~~~~~~~ Just so y'all know, I imagine the characters as the actors I saw when I watched it live, so I use their mannerisms and stuff. Also there is a fair amount of Spanish, but I will put the translations in [brackets].

Alexandra Davies, who was raised in Roxbury Boston, doesn't really fit in with the crowd. Her best and only friend Christopher Jackson usually hangs out with her at his fathers Bodega. He also works there part time. His parents were from Italy, and moved to the US for him to have 'better options for college'. His mom was pregnant with him while they moved, and he was born in Boston USA. He was the only one that talked to her in school, and didn't single her out just because of her accent. So they became best friends. One day, Alexandra's mom gave her a letter from her birth parents. It was with her when they adopted her, and it said not to open until she was 18. It turns out, she's a princess.

I really, REALLY fucking love the Bodega universe. I decided i'd take a little break from writing Atreya to make a few Bodega short stories. Enjoy, criticism is welcome and encouraged.
