"Have you ever been in your life, like just moving through as always, then there's this record scratch?"
Cam is just doing his usual Saturday thing, hockey practise with the guys, community hours for credits, when IT happens. The record scratch. He's jolted out of hot jock mode when he hears her singing in the kitchen where they are making food for a homeless shelter. Then he sees her dance, and all bets are off. The problem? She's Mirabelle, the girl who pounds Pringles more than Pilates and used to have a pet rock collection.
In the time it takes for them to make three meals, Cam gets more than enough food for thought to turn the record scratch into a love song. But Belle ("not Mirabelle, that's my grandmother's name") Sanders isn't the usual simpering high school girl won over by a pretty face. Even worse, Cam's usual swag goes MIA just when he needs that sucker.
What's a hot jock to do? Find out in this short story that's a satisfying bite of high school love with hilarious banter, a little eat, pray love, and a whole lotta swoon.
