It is not because he's famous in their high school because he was titled as one of the most athletic students but, it is because he's very wide on using his words as inspiration and how he's a happy-go-lucky and extrovert guy that looks like would greet every person he walked to. (Which is true) Since he's only receiving love, Bokuto didn't know how to give someone love, not until he met him.

Kenma's known he wasn't straight, but it also never occured to him that he was gay. He just always assumed he was bisexual or pansexual. Akaashi never cared about sexual orientation. He was just him. No need for label. Bokuto knew he was gay. He'd always known. So it was no surprise that he found himself attracted to his friends/roomates. Kuroo felt the same way as Akaashi.
