Elena Gilbert had it all, she was the most popular girl at school with a handsome boyfriend and an amazing group of friends, including Jamie Parker. Jamie didn't have it all, his mother had him young so she placed him into the foster care system which caused him to be stuck with some truly horrible people. But one night, Elena and Jamie snuck out of their homes and went to a party where Elena dumped Matt, her boyfriend. In a panic, she called her parents to come and pick her and Jamie up to take them home but an accident happened causing her parents to drive off Wickery Bridge. That was three months ago, Elena went to paris with her Aunt Jenna to forget about what had happened back in Mystic Falls.
