Mericent Willson is a half-mermaid half-human. She wanted her whole life to fit in, to be the person Seabrook wants her to be. But, once Zombies and many other monsters come into the mix, maybe fitting in might be the last of her worries.

She thought that all zombies were vicious creatures only after brains. Well according to her family and friends they were. Deep down she knew that they were wrong but how is she going to show them? As if hearing her inner conflict, the universe answered her pleas by allowing the zombies to attend Seabrook High. There she meets a group of interesting zombies that only want to show the people of Seabrook that they are not monsters, their zombies. Here Daisy Wilson, an aspiring cheerleader, learns the real nature of the zombies, learns how to accept her differences and faces one of the most difficult choices that she has ever had to make. All this while trying to understand what she is feeling towards the tall zombie that seems to only be able to speak in Zombie.
