a rustling noise silenced his would-be question, a man suddenly rising up from behind the large desk after the disturbance stopped. he was tall; black hair long and obstructing his face, he almost looked like someone seungkwan would be afraid of, if it weren't for a smile that quickly disintegrated any notion of that idea. "hi, yes- i'm sorry," the man stuttered out, tucking his hair behind his ears and adjusting his simple black tee. "i'm not open yet." his voice seemed to utter every apology under the sun, a slight bow accompanying the tone. seungkwan laughed nervously, his grip on the vase now awkward with the apparent misunderstanding. "oh, no, i know that," he laughed again, holding his gift out before he began to explain its appearance. the black water was probably alarming from the man's point of view. every year in december, the workers on the 1st floor of eumak co. decide to have a little holiday fun in the form of childish pranks. there's never a dull day at work, but when it's officially christmas season? things go from 10 to 100 real quick. stupid slapsticks, bribes, taunting, the occasional tinsel bomb (mingyu's still finding tinsel stuck in the keyboards), and sometimes the fun even spills into their personal lives, also known as their houses. the only thing the group does that is actually 100% in the holiday spirit is the gift exchange on christmas day; sadly, they have to work, but they make the most of it by having a friendly get-together in the breakroom after hours. it's always fun because they get to witness the aftermath of their dysfunctional shenanigans in peace, since seungkwan would definitely kill someone if they ruined his and minghao's decorations. but that day is weeks from now, mingyu's mind helpfully supplies as he plops down in his desk chair, immediately screaming and getting up because of the fake bug perched on the top of the monitor. he heard laughter in the distance.
