Casey has just graduated high school and wants nothing more than to work in his mom's bookstore and keep to himself, though all she wants is for him to be the first in his family to go to college. To placate her and prove college is not for him, he agrees to take a trip to stay with his aunt Leah and visit a college. He knows that he'll hate it. School has never been for him, and he came out of high school without a single friend. But when his aunt Leah drags him to a convention for his favorite book, he finds a whole new world of people that could accept and love him in spite of his flaws, including someone completely unexpected.
