It's been a couple months since the ppgz has seen the rrbz. So what happens?

Every generation blames the one before, a line from the "Living Years" song, pretty much holds true in today's USA, but probably no group is as vilified as our Millennials. Scholars and columnists love to tee off on this batch when there's nothing more current to complain about. Frankly, I think they are in the same lifeboat as the rest of us and are only reacting naturally to the choppy seas they unexpectedly found themselves in. Perhaps we should have invested more in swimming lessons than in esteem building exercises.

Journaling my thoughts to the world.

This is a story about the life of my mom, Eve Fulton. I started writing letters to her, two or three a week for several years. They talked about our journey together as a family and the issues we faced. When my mom passed, a volunteer came up to me to say she read the many letters to my mom. I asked her if she kept any. She replied no. So, for the passed year or so I have copied out the stories, and placed them in a logical order. The order will become more and more apparent as the tale progresses.

This is a bxb book. Josh is a tall and noodle-like teenager that has depression and jokes about suicide but deep down he knows he is too much of a coward to do it. Jacky is a weird and creepy boy that enjoys making people miserable. People are afraid of his unpredictability. He is strong compared to his short stature. What will happen when the two awkward teenagers crash into each other. Literally.

This book addresses all the struggles Gen Z is currently facing. It identifies many of our problems and explores a variety of solutions we can use to improve our circumstances. Despite its declaration that Boomers are a problem, its not an attack on their generation, but rather an example we can use to avoid the bad reputation they have received. We don't want the generations after us to see us as selfish or dismissive of the challenges they inherited. It also points out the fact that we have many flaws and bad habits that we need to fix. The Rock Fight is a great little story of Boomers as kids, on the cusp of coming of age. The author speaks with detail and assurance about life in the 60's (the Stingray bike gave it away) where, as the author perceptively observes, the neighborhood was everything, most especially during summer vacation. All the characters, most on the verge of adolescence, ring unerringly true, with nary a false note struck. The pace of the story moves along naturally, keeping the reader's interest without gimmicks or sensationalism, the descriptions sufficiently fleshed out to create a feel of the kids, the neighborhood, the era, and the plot engages, with a believable and satisfying climax and denouement. The narration is well written in simple, accessible declarative prose, with dialogue the stuff that kids actually said to each other in that generation. In summary then, "The Rock Fight" paradoxically succeeds as it faithfully hews closely to its own modest parameters.
