Naruto comes home to a quiet house. A voice behind a closed door stops him. And for the first time- he chooses not to walk in.

Boruto has finally returned from the past. Now all that's left is to relax with his best friends and lead a normal life. Well, as normal as you can get with the two strongest shinobi as your dads. And with both your sisters as your teammates. And with all your friends' parents getting attacked by masked men. Oh, and where the hell is Mitsuki? SEQUEL TO WHAT COULD'VE BEEN! Writing prompt from sunshine-boruto on Tumblr. I read their idea and thought it could be cute. Not to brag, but I am pretty proud of how it turned out.

Boruto starts to struggle with an overwhelming feeling that has been sturring up in the pit in his stomach. As this feeling starts to grow, he doesn't know what to do or how to approach it. That is until fate pulls him closer to the person that seems to be the source of the problem. And that person just so happens to be his best friend and teammate, Mitsuki. How will this friendship turn out after all is revealed? Mitsuki breathed in through his nose and closed his eyes again, directing his full focus to the happy memory and thoroughly enjoying the moment. Boruto never really had understood what Mitsuki meant by referring to him as his Sun, so by watching sunrises and sunsets together Mitsuki had hoped his feelings would somehow get through to Boruto. __________________________ This is a Mitsuboru/Borumitsu ship fanfic and my first written anything ever! Mistuki knew they would be fine but something about this was making him feel uneasy. What bothered him most was that there wasn't a rational reason for it. It was just a feeling he couldn't shake.

It started out small. A fleck. It was hardly noticeable, and the only reason Mitsuki was aware of it at all was because his own skin was so pale and, admittedly, flawless. Then another one appeared. And another. Before he knew it it became a glaringly obvious on what it was. Mitsuki just hadn't realized that a clone could have a soulmark.

There was nothing wrong with this but, looking around at the dozens of other couples, he couldn't help the feeling that people would get the wrong idea. He took a deep, steadying breath. This wasn't a date. He was just taking his best friend to the summer festival. No big deal.
