Lily betrays Severus by telling Sirius about his crush on him. They marauders are pissed at Lily for betraying someone trust and then Sirius, Severus, Remus and James go to Gringotts and they are shocked.

James likes Severus and Severus likes him but Severus thinks he likes Lily and he knows Lily likes James but she won't date him because she doesn't want him to feel betrayed. Tho that is till Lily finds out Severus is gay.
