Months ago, an unknown virus broke out, turning Hyruleans into decaying corpses. Panic erupted throughout the nation, as more bitten Hyruleans turned, and soon, the affected areas were sealed off to prevent further spread. The situation seems bleak. All connection to the outside world has been cut off. The radios and TVs had gone out weeks ago. No news of help, supply crates, or evacuations. You don't even know if there is some semblance of normal life outside anymore, and it's certain that no one is coming to look for survivors. Now, it's just Link and you, the zombies, and whatever you can salvage from the wreckage that had been left in the mass panic. Perhaps there are other survivors out there. Reader is instructed by Hylia to be Link's guide as he wakes up from his slumber and carries the fate of Hyrule on his shoulders. She really figured he'd be more refined, even after being asleep for so long, but she's dismayed to find that not only does he have the manners of a cretin, but his vocal chords seemed to sustain serious damage from his battle 100 years ago. Or in which, reader is a demigoddess and if she doesn't guide Link on his journey to defeat Ganon and save the world then Hylia will strip her of her status.

Together, they make a perfect traveling pair. botw!link x fem!reader [yes, there was a fairly popular older version of this story, but i believe as i have grown as a writer, my favorite story should grow as well, so here is a much more detailed and better version of breathless.]

Link lives on the outskirts of Rito village, living a peaceful life with his father, until the Hylian military finally comes looking for him and the Master Sword, and will do anything to chain Link to the royal family. [Please note as the story progresses I will most likely get more descriptive with injuries]

Darkness was the only thing visible; the only thing that kept him company, which felt... lonely. Nothing felt right, like he wasn't meant to be here. But where else is he supposed to be- there was nothing. Once more, he submerges into the dark chasm of his mind. However, a light flicker. Small, yet mesmerizing to him. A muffled voice calls out to the dark abyss of his mind. Soon, the flicker of light grew brighter revealing its golden rays to him. This light dissipated the darkness that surrounded him. 'It's a nice change of pace', he thought. The voice was much clearer and it continued to call out to him. "Link, open your eyes" the voice called out once more. 'Link'? Was this his name? He couldn't remember, but it felt right somehow. Link soon opened his eyes slowly. A blue glow is what he could see now. Disoriented by his surroundings, Link crawled out of the pool he was in. He then sat up on the edge of the pool and blinked again to settle his senses. As soon as his mind and body settled, questions started to sprout. 'What is this place? How long have I been here?', he asked himself. More confusion grew. "Who am I?" ______________________ The sun rose from the eastern hemisphere, shining its rays complementing the golden sands of the Gerudo Desert. The warmth of the sun was spread across the freezing desert, giving the perfect condition to traverse it. A young girl from a town, which was located in this desert, has made her way out of her beloved home to set out on an important quest. To find the answer she was looking for. Jessica was the second knight appointed to Princess Zelda while she researched the Great Calamity and attempted to access her sealing power. When the Great Calamity hit, she was struck down with Link while protecting their princess, and were both placed in separate shrines of resurrection, hers being less well-known than the one that Link was placed in. When she awoke, however, she remembered things that Link didn't-quite a bit more than he did. However, something, or rather, someone has her wait to tell him what she knows, and so she must watch as Link struggles to remember the past they shared as they explore what has become of Hyrule in their absence.

Before Link's awakening after 100 years of slumber, there was another story. Before the wild took over the man made, there were four champions, a princess, and the sword's chosen one. Link had been training his whole life to become a knight, but when he manages to make a long lasting friendship with a zora girl, he is rocketed into places and situations he never dreamed possible. Now, he holds the Sword that Seals the Darkness, the Master Sword, and is in charge of not only defeating the nearing Calamity Ganon, but protecting the ever ambitious Princess Zelda. This is the story before the wild, this is a Breath of the Past.

Calamity Ganon, an entity of pure evil and chaos. A force to be reckoned with and feared by all. His arrival to Hyrule is fast approaching and with that, the destruction of Hyrule. In order to prevent such a catastrophe from occurring, 6 Champions were chosen from each region of Hyrule. These 6 Champions, along with the princess of Hyrule will stop the Calamity if it's the last thing they do. Mipha, the Zora Champion. Daruk, the Goron Champion. Revali, the Rito Champion. Urbosa, the Gerudo Champion. Willow, the Supporting Champion and the inheritor of a gift from the Goddess Din. Link, the Hylian Champion and the bearer of the sword that seals the darkness. Zelda, Hyrule's princess who carries the Goddess Hylia's blood in her veins. The kingdom of Hyrule spent many years preparing for Ganon's fated return. But, when he finally returned, he plagued the land with malice and ended the lives of many... Thankfully, after 100 years of recovery, the surviving Champions Willow and Link awaken but with no memory of their lives before their slumber.
