A tale of intergenerational BIID over centuries. In prep school I became a close friend of Brian Meadows. His mobility impairment was obvious. Over time its cause became evident as he described a peculiar turn of mind shared by generations of privileged ancestors whose story reaches back well into 18th century France. This is a work of fiction. Any resemblance to persons or situations other than those that are clearly general knowledge is pure coincidence. The story is excerpted and adapted from my much longer novel "Buddies." I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I have writing it.

Inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's "The Little Prince," the following story tells of a boy named Artem from Southgate Michigan; who after high school sets out on an adventure with his cousin and two best friends making stops in multiple cities, meeting multiple counterparts with words of wisdom, all in seek of his mother Rose. Warning, Viewer Discretion is Advised. This book is rated PG because it's a teen fiction, coming of age adventure story; but it may contain mature elements such as drug references, and graphic language. I advise not to read if you are easily triggered. Remember this is a work of fiction, and not to be taken literally. This story does not depict any actual person or event. All the characters are fictional. Any resemblance to real persons living or dead is purely coincidental. When someone says that a boy becomes a man after 18. Don't ever believe him/her. They are misleading you. A boy and a man are two entirely different things. A boy can be 25, a man can 14. That's what it is. It is just how your mind is. But yeah you don't wake up one day and say, "Yes! I am a man!". There's a thing you have to go through, phasing if you want to say it. This is a children's story- definitely not my usual genre, though it is a coming-of-age story.

This a book of rants by yours truly because I think my friends are getting fed up with me coming to lunch everyday complaining about our horrible physics teacher, but more on that later. Rated mature for strong language. Come rant with me, Star, in the comments. I'm a great listener.

I've spent so much time on this island that every day feels the same. Sure, it's fun at first, but then you learn things, and you realize that even though time slows here, it somehow keeps going." *** Arrow has lived in Neverland all of his life with his fellow lost boys. He has always followed the same three rules all the other boys follow. Rule #1- Always be loyal to Peter Pan Rule #2- Don't look into the Founding Rule #3- Under no circumstances, leave Neverland and grow up But when Arrow sees something he shouldn't have, he'll have to choose between loyalty to his fellow lost boys or to discover himself and his past.

This is a poem about hope and about appreciating the very small things life has to offer because they are never just small things.
