Everyone is quick to presume that they know the story of the Chatwins, but do they? Do they truly know? What's done in the dark often comes to light, so let the illumination process commence, via the eldest of the Chatwins. Maybe this time, you'll gain a new perspective as the Beast faces Quentin (literally). (1500 word #Battlethebeast contest)

This is my interpretation of what happened in the 16th timeloop that Quentin and his friends are stuck in, and their subsequent battle with the Beast.

Quentin and his friends made the choice to learn the hardest magic that there is: Berserker Magic, but are they skilled enough to control it, or will they be consumed by its raw power? (#battlethebeast 1,500 word Syfy contest)

There is a terrible evil known as the beast that threatens magic in the universe. It is up to a group of students at Brakebills University to destroy this monster. Quentin Coldwater and his friends have trained for this encounter with the beast forty times, and never prevails. They are given the chance of a do over with a magical pocket watch owned by Jane Chatwin. Each time Jane resets time she changes something that could possibly help these students defeat this threat. You will learn of the first battle with the beast. You will see how Jane Chatwin discovers how Quentin is destined to kill the beast. You will be left wondering what she needs to change in order to have triumph, and reclaim Fillory.

(Not an entry into the #BattletheBeast contest). Penny, in his trips to other worlds, stumbles upon one that houses an opportunity to summon a god. One that is trapped and yearning to break free. One that is, perhaps, willing to lend a helping hand to their cause of killing the Beast. All they have to do is navigate deceptive forests, avoid psychopathic pixies, religious fanatics and maybe do a little dance number, of a sort.

Quentin spent an entire semester trying to destroy The Beast - a malevolent being who wants him dead. Now, he believes he has discovered the key to what may prove to be The Beast's demise, he simply needs to retrieve it from the Plover Estate. This is my short story entry for the #BattleTheBeast contest hosted by SyFy. Word Count: 1,280

In this #BattleTheBeast story, Quentin enters the magical land of Fillory through a rainbow in one of his earliest battles against The Beast. He is joined by his friends Alice and Elliot on a quest to rescue the Keeper of Rainbows, who's been kidnapped by The Beast. They are called through the rainbow by the Keeper's daughter, Marigold. If they don't succeed, the magical rainbows of Fillory could be lost forever.

Quentin Coldwater has faced The Beast forty times, and he's lost every time. His friends die, he dies. Jane Chatwin was able to use a magic pocketwatch to rewind time all those other times, but this time Jane Chatwin is dead and there are no more mulligans for Quentin and his friends.

What happens when Brakebills becomes a school for female magicians specializing in self-defense?

Quentin and Julia have developed a plan to capture to the Beast in a lost artifact from Fillory, the legendary Pisces Stone. Eliza and Eliot offer their assistance, but, of course, things do not go as planned.

The Magician King is the sequel to The Magicians and picks up the story two years later. Quentin and his friends are the kings and queens of Fillory, but their life of luxury isn’t the paradise it appears to be. The days and nights of royal leisure are starting to pall, and after a morning hunt takes a sinister turn, Quentin and his old friend Julia charter a magical sailing ship and set out on an errand to the wild outer reaches of their kingdom. The Magician King also tells the story of Julia's education, and how she fought and scrapped her way through the seedy underbelly of the magical world to get a sorcerous education outside the ivory tower of Brakebills.

It's Victoria Meadows' first day at Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, while there, she meets and befriends Erin Coldwater, sister of Quentin, who catches Victoria's eye (and unknowingly, her heart), she must dodge the unwanted affection of Erin's crush and Quentin's ally, Eliot Waugh, or so she thinks she does. Can she learn to control her powers, or will they be the downfall of Brakebills? Read about the friendships, romances and heart-wrenching betrayal in the story, Lost Within The Magic of Love.

Everyone thinks I'm dead, but in reality I'm just as alive as they are. Well, except for the part where I'm a witch, and powerful one. The Beast took me and tried enslaved me, I escaped but I wasn't in my body, it looked like committed suicide, but I didn't, I'm trying to go back, and the only person that can help me is Quentin. Jinx Marry James has been Quentin's best friend since dippers, well she's a year younger then him but is more intelligent, at least magic wise, she was excepted into Brakebills 2 years before him she has had to keep it a secret from him, it killed her. She also knows that Fillery is real, when Quentin finds out when he's excepted into Brakebills, he is furious and stops talking to her, it killed her even more, he was forced to talk to her again when the Trials started. At the end of them Quentin hooked up with Alice and that starts her depression. To make matters worse she can read minds but is also a physical, so she can read everything Quentin thinks, all he does is think about is Alice. People believe that she committed suicide, but she didn't. Disclaimer I do not own The Magicians

Eliot Waugh can't give up on the chance he had with the man he loves. No one really did get proof of concept like that. If Alice could come back from being a niffin, if Penny 23 could hop timelines, if Julia could become a goddess, if every other redemption was possible, then was his own. One way or another he'd find his way back to Q. Join Eliot as he takes up an unexpected position at the end of the globe and encounters strange occurrences, faces his demons, and finds his way back to the man he loves.

this is one of the 39 times the world of the magicians has been reset, more specifically the 29th time, however a longer and fuller version of that. ----------------------------------------- This is the story of another group of Magicians and how they live their lives with magic. However they do affect Brakebills and its characters, no matter how small of a role. Please enjoy and read. The first few chapters are really short but they get longer as you go. Quentin Coldwater, Julia Wicker, Josh Hoberman, and Kady Orloff-Diaz face off against the Beast in a somewhat different guise.
