This was from an assignment that I had in grade 12 for english class. We read Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. My assignment was to make a last chapter to the book, this is mine. This last chapter is the way that I think Lenina would or should end if this were a real life story. Enjoy.

2 weeks? No sweat. 2 months? Easy Peasy. 4 years? No problem. Only the longest wait in the world, how will this almost adult 17 year old boy deal with such a volatile and unsure future? Stick around and Wait to find out how this coming of age almost manchild's future unfolds.

It's a strange new world right now, and like a lot of you, I was not all that prepared for it. So, in an effort to keep myself sane I've decided to write down the not-comings and not-goings but the staying put and the new discoveries to be made as we all hibernate for a while. Some things are funny, some are definitely not. Let's look at them together, because we're all in this together.

When a citizen turns twenty-two their life changes and a sense of individuality is lost as one is merged with another, the other being their designated soul mate, the one they must live out the rest of their life in compliance to government regulations.

John's understanding of the events that occurred in the novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. This was something I wrote for my class, but I liked it enough to share.

The dog who didn't like his master is a light hearted, humorous dystopia about Ben, a Labrador who does not want to become a guide dog for the visually impaired and decides to run away from his training school with the help of a scheming cat named Pistachio. Set in the war torn northern town of Lambed, the novel follows Ben's adventures and his misguided conversion to the feline cause. Ben embarks on a voyage of love, betrayal and redemption which will not leave him unscathed. A tall tale/tail indeed in which the animals have become decidedly human in their quest for power and domination. With the help of Ben, a fascistic Catiphate is born but will there be room for him once Pistachio has asserted himself as its absolute ruler? To be sure this is an old tale but one with a modern twist coloured by current events on the world scene.

Today I think of the future and can't help but to worry. Global warming, racism, discrimination, famine show up on my feeds daily. The only thing giving any kind of hope are the people fighting these things to build a safer future. One of health, tolerance, community. There are plenty of things that we should be willing to lose in the fight for a better tomorrow; it is our duty to repair the things we have broken. Inspired clearly by the Huxley classic, Brave New World, this is an expression of my distaste with the world far less comically than Huxley and with bitterness indelible.

As he recalls his own story, Darwin travels to the Reservation to complete filming what he hopes will be his defining work.
