The world is changing, the apocalypse was not what they thought it would be. Join the shy, smart dude and the stuck up, popular blonde, where they are lost in the apocalypse of insanity. They find themselves not only destroying the creatures that stalk them but also their own stereotypes. 'We rushed out, being eaten by the darkness of the night. It's the first time I had ever seen the night sky this beautiful. The light of my stars caught me in a trance. I couldn't pull my eyes away. The lights dotted the sky like the freckles of Josh's face. Was this him tormenting us? There seemed to be clouds years away made of stars. I would never look at the stars the same again.' Will be uploaded once a week, like a TV series, sorta, but in a book :) enjoy

University friends Luisa and Kay reunite in Nairobi after a year apart to do some feel good volunteering but their friendship and the trip begin to unravel the moment they meet a strikingly handsome British philanthropist and a Ghanaian entrepreneur. In short order the donor funding the project that has brought them together is revealed to be rich and cruel, her interest in coming to Kenya to "help" routed in deeply disturbing ideology. Meanwhile, Luisa must confront her reasons for maintaining her friendship with Kay, her status as heir to a nearly incalculable fortune, her feelings for a man who seems a little too good to be true and the tragedy she left behind back in California. ** A/N This story is a work of fiction, but it's based on things I saw and heard while working in international development for five years. It's my attempt to find the complicated middle ground between those who would idealize international development and those who would condemn it. It's also a place for me to deal with a difficult friendship I had with a friend who was suffering from mental illness. She's since passed away and I'm not sure I ever really got over it. The story isn't at all done so as I'm writing I'm figuring it out too. I've set the story Nairobi and in Kisumu, which is far west of Nairobi. I've picked the title partly because of what Nairobi represents. Nairobi is a throbbing, innovative metropolis situated in a continent that is still viewed very narrowly as a place in need of help.

Perhaps nowadays, it is easy to get lost in the vast sea of our own problems, thoughts and happenings; to acknowledge the fact that in some way we are all connected. We are all interlinked. We are all under one sky. Extract: "Kieran, I still don't understand why you would risk getting hurt - risk losing your life, all for me?" I asked him, rubbing soft circles on the back of his hand with my thumb, with a gentle, but pressing tone. Wordlessly, he propped himself up with his elbows on the bed, and lifted one hand to stroke my cheek, which by this point was significantly red, with the side of his thumb. Then he ran his fingers through my hair, as if they were strands of fine silk and slowly traced each finger onto my neck. He gently curved his fingers around it, and pulled me forwards to meet his lips in a fervent and spirited kiss, that was no doubt silent, and yet it spoke volumes. He pulled away after a few moments, his unguarded green eyes glinting with reams of zeal. "Does that answer your question?" He replied, his lop-sided smile playful, but his words sincere.

Thunder was crashing as the lightning touched the ground of the pack land entrance, the darkness was met with yellow eyes, snarls were heard, as the Beta of the Blackrose pact screamed and sounded the Alarm " Attack, we are under Attack, warecats from the north! " More screams were heard as calls from the East, West and South sounded the alarm. Tristan Blackroses eyes shot open, hearing the panic screams of his pact as he looked to his wife in utter horror. " Lock the door behind me, " the Alpha said to his wife while placing his arms around her in a tight embrace knowing very well this might be the last time he saw her he kissed her with such passion. As he stepped out onto his once beautiful packs home front ,the smell of death and screams horrified him. His eyes were looking around, searching for any pack members still alive, cackles were heard as he shifted his footing and turned. His crimson eyes were met with at least 30 yellow eyes all looking out at him. " Well Tristan Blackrose, I can't say your reputation proceeds you, you quite smaller than I thought you would be," a sadistic werecat said, who could distinctively be acknowledged as the leader stepped forward to him. " What the fuck do you want, and why are you on my pack lands." Tristan spat back, he would not cower, he knew his death was imminent, though he wouldn't give this Cat the satisfaction. " Expansion, and genocide, you mutts have to learn your place, so I thought I'd send a message to the werewolf council by taking out one of their top packs in one night." He sounded almost bored as he lifted his finger. Two large gavilines impaled each of Tristan's legs, almost simultaneously one going through each. He smelt it before he felt the burning flesh from the silver weapons were holding him in place as he attempted to pull them out he found his arms wouldn't respond, wolfsbane he thought in horror, as he growled at his sadistic foe before him.

"Dad's gone," my cousin's voice was barely above a whisper. "You must come home for the Evaluations," she uttered and the phone line went dead. ***** After Keri's Uncle - the Alpha of the Silver Bullets pack - loses his battle with cancer, the young woman is summoned away from University and back home to take part in the Evaluations - a series of challenges that would help determine who would take on the role of the new leader. Once the responsibility of caring for over a hundred werewolves falls on Keri, she must stay with her pack in Woodville, relinquishing her lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer. The young female soon discovers that her new position is even more demanding that she'd always thought it would be, but she is determined to prove herself and justify the trust placed on her. Respected for her good judgment, physical abilities and compassion, the twenty-four year old lacks in one of the most important aspects an Alpha could: she has yet to choose a mate, or so the pack thinks. Little do they know, Keri has already recognized the man to bear that title, but deciding that his personality and lifestyle might prove detrimental to her wards, she gives up on another dream: the dream of being with someone she could confide in and always depend on. With an unknown enemy determined to ruin the Silver Bullets, never before had Keri needed that man as much as she does now. Things only get worse when he somewhat reluctantly offers his help; now Keri must fight not only the pack's foe, but also herself as she's forced to work with the person her heart desires but her mind does not approve of. ***** • Updates on Sundays • Proofread • Draft (basic edits done) • Best rating so far: #89 in Paranormal © 2018 Dilyana Kyoseva (CatMint5) All Rights Reserved
