Reputations. They're things people usually obtain without asking for, and seemingly applied to everyone no matter how true or false they may be. Do you know the saying good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught? Kaillie Adams has the reputation for being your typical good girl. She's nice, smart and gets good grades. She's even dating the school's quarterback, Zach Holden. But since childhood, one of Kaillie's best friends has been Carter Williams, who has recently gained the reputation of being the school's resident bad boy. That's not exactly someone a typical good girl would hang out with, now is it? Because there is always more to someone than what meets the eye, more than what labels society gives them. It seems everyone has a reputation. But the thing is, they aren't usually right. Note: I've been publishing chapters of this story since the end of 2014, so my writing does improved as the book progresses Highest rank: #665 on 24.11.2015 in Teen Fiction :3 Rating for mild language. University friends Luisa and Kay reunite in Nairobi after a year apart to do some feel good volunteering but their friendship and the trip begin to unravel the moment they meet a strikingly handsome British philanthropist and a Ghanaian entrepreneur. In short order the donor funding the project that has brought them together is revealed to be rich and cruel, her interest in coming to Kenya to "help" routed in deeply disturbing ideology. Meanwhile, Luisa must confront her reasons for maintaining her friendship with Kay, her status as heir to a nearly incalculable fortune, her feelings for a man who seems a little too good to be true and the tragedy she left behind back in California. ** A/N This story is a work of fiction, but it's based on things I saw and heard while working in international development for five years. It's my attempt to find the complicated middle ground between those who would idealize international development and those who would condemn it. It's also a place for me to deal with a difficult friendship I had with a friend who was suffering from mental illness. She's since passed away and I'm not sure I ever really got over it. The story isn't at all done so as I'm writing I'm figuring it out too. I've set the story Nairobi and in Kisumu, which is far west of Nairobi. I've picked the title partly because of what Nairobi represents. Nairobi is a throbbing, innovative metropolis situated in a continent that is still viewed very narrowly as a place in need of help.

People write to show how they feel, I do so too, Because I am human and I am real, That means everything I write rings true. Sometimes, love is expressed- But, hatred as well- Loyalty bonds are tested- But, the rest? Only time will tell. I'm dark inside, but so are you, We are creatures of emotions after all, And that's really our cue- Either to fall down or stand tall. Don't judge me of what I think, Just listen to my voice, Which is shielded with an armor that's actually my invisible chink, Listen or don't listen-you all have a choice. Some are seen and some are not, Just like a land of unread tombs, Just don't say you forgot, Find me-in My Book of Poems. Highest rank: #92 in POETRY
