They named the first daughter Zelda, hoping the Goddess Hylia would answer their prayers and keep the tradition of her unlocked the sacred power to seal Calamity Ganon. The second daughter, (Y/n), was hidden from the public eye at the request of the King. Zelda spent almost her whole life with government studies and prayer being stuffed into her face, her personal passions being frowned upon. (Y/n), on the other hand, had no duties to fulfill and instead studied alongside her sister, became a knight, and made a certain special friend. Despite having a place among those she's closest to, she still feels confused, as if something in her life quite hasn't clicked into place yet... ...that is, until her entire world crumbles whenever she realizes that her true purpose is that of which her sister had been promised her entire life. in the kingdom of Hyrule, duty comes before desire. Princess Zelda carries the weight of a kingdom destined to face ruin, bound by expectations, prophecy, and the silent pressure of a future she cannot escape. Link, a newly appointed Royal Guard, has always believed his purpose is simple-protect the kingdom, no matter the cost. But everything changes the moment their paths begin to cross. What starts as duty slowly becomes something neither of them can name. A shared understanding. A fragile connection. A silence that speaks louder than words. Yet with the Calamity looming closer, and the kingdom watching their every move, they are forced into a choice neither of them are ready for: to follow what they feel, or to bury it beneath duty and destiny. This book stars Link and the Champions messing around in a group chat on Sheikah Slates. The timeline takes place one year before the Calamity, though I will incorporate a few creative elements that aren't necessarily linked to the actual timeline. 100 years ago Link could only speak to one person. Zelda. But when he fell in battle, he was sent to the Shrine of Resurrection only to lose all his past memories. Now, although he has regained all the memories on his Sheikah Slate, he still has many left that he must regain, including one which will result in either never being alone again, of living the rest of his life in the wild, alone. This is my first story so it won't be world class writing. I will try to upload every week however I won't make any promises. Also, there will be some Zelink in it. Well, when I mean some, I mean A LOT ;) Also I know the title sounds like a story you may of already read 'After the Calamity' by yourtreebranchbroke, and I would like to say this story is NOT a remix of that story. [This fan fiction takes place in the world of LoZ: Breath of the Wild. There will be no major spoilers!
