Young Orcakit wants nothing more than to be a loyal warrior of RiverClan, and to one day hopefully lead his Clan for many peaceful moons. But one day, apprentices of the Clans start to go missing. Some are found dead, some never return, but the ones do are traumatized and won't speak of their ordeal. When his littermate, Breezepaw is stolen, Orcapaw desperately follows her scent trail. When he finds her, some deep secrets will be revealed, cats will be betrayed, and Orcapaw won't know who he is anymore.

hollypaw didn't think she was any different from her family. nightcloud loved her and took care of her like any other mother would. crowfeather would go on walks with her and sneak her out of camp to see the stars at moonrise. even breezepaw, despite being an annoyance at times, made sure she was happy and comforted her when she wasn't. but then the stars spoke to barkface and told him she was his predecessor. but then cats started gossiping about how she "didn't look like her father," "didn't sound like her mother," "didn't act like her brother," etcetera. . . . but then, she realized she had a real problem.

The two warrior clans are finally at peace after the short but horrible rein of Blazestar. But there is still more in store for the clans. Dawnpaw and Breezepaw must listen to Starclan to achieve what needs to be done. There will be dangers and new discoveries along their journey. But will they be able to do what Starclan asks of them?
