Bren finds himself in the lower city of Nagendra, and out of necessity puts his life in the hands of an untrusting, bitter mechanic. Jovie has been taught all her life not to trust bionics, or men that have been enhanced with robotics, but with the money she stands to make off Bren, perhaps she can overlook it. She finds that Bren brings more than just broken machinery with him, however, as the manhunt for the missing representative continues, and a new one for the bionic suspected of taking him begins. *There will be typos.*
