Brick has been used for ages as a structural material. With the help of bricks, architects constructed small and large buildings. Bricks have always been a building material that is reserved for higher-end houses, as it is known as a labor-intensive building material. In the past, it has been observed that if the cost of labor gets increased, brick construction becomes more costly and as a result, people start to use brick less. During these times in order to get the brick wall feeling, the Brick Veneer wall has been developed. How is the brick veneer attached? When we are talking about brick Veneer, it doesn't mean the slices that are put up in the kitchen wall, In which the brick is holding the house, but with brick veneer, it is the house that is holding up the brick. The old structure brick walls have multiple layers for creating more strength, the brick veneer is having a single layer. Veneer bricks give the same look as double brick, and if the bricks are removed the complete structure of the house would still stand. This is why it is said that the house is holding up the brick, not the vice versa. Are bricks Waterproof? Before installing bricks, the walls are built, bricks are installed above the walls with the help of metal ties. There is a 1-inch air space that is behind the brick, that allows any water to fall and get out through the holes. Whenever there is wind-driven rain, the moisture will pass through to the brick wall. As we all know if water wants to find a way, it will. so it's very important to take care of it and get rid of all the water. The veneer Bricks are very strong and if properly maintained it can provide up to hundreds of years of service
