England, 1815. A new year and a new social season. Young ladies from all over the ton will flock yet again for one purpose; finding a husband. Francesca is freshly 18 and ready to settle for someone tolerable. Practical and even-keeled, she does not expect to meet a love-match like her siblings before her. Penelope is not keen on entering spinsterhood just to live at the whims of one of her sisters. Stretched between a still kicking crush on Colin, a broken friendship with Eloise, and her ever contentious secret identity as Lady Whistledown, her future happiness depends entirely on how well she can play the balancing game. Eloise is less than pleased to be entering her second social season. Left reeling from Penelope's scathing pamphlets as Lady Whistledown, she resigns herself to playing nice, if just for the season. Her new friendship with Cressida Cowper leads her to see her fellow ladies of the ton in a new light as Eloise tries find herself amidst the ballrooms she feel so out of place in. Let's face it, season 3 was a disappointment for pretty much everyone. So I'm rewriting it, and filling in the many gaps and plot-holes that left us questioning

Adelaide Montrose was once a familiar face among the Bridgertons-a childhood best friend to Daphne, a young girl who laughed in the gardens of Aubrey Hall, and a dear companion to London's finest. But at thirteen, she was forced to leave, vanishing from the world of the ton as if she had never belonged to it. Years later, she returns. No longer the little girl she once was, Adelaide has blossomed into a woman of grace, wit, and undeniable beauty. When Queen Charlotte declares her The Ruby of the Season, she becomes the envy of debutantes and the prize every suitor desires. But one man, in particular, seems determined to resist her charm-Anthony Bridgerton, the ever-dutiful Viscount who once knew her only as Daphne's mischievous friend. With past memories lingering and society's expectations weighing heavily, Adelaide and Anthony find themselves drawn together in a game of longing, duty, and undeniable passion. But is love truly enough when the world demands otherwise?

"My heart ached for her when she wasn't near, but it skipped a beat when I saw her." It is Elizabeth Johnston's second debutante, she finds it pressuring that even the Queen is sending her hope in finding a suitable husband. While experiencing every possible emotion you could before be presented to society a second time, she finds herself falling for someone that she can't have. As Colin Bridgerton is falling for Penelope Featherington, Benedict is also falling for a London season debutante. But though he is one of the ton's most eligible bachelors and has girls falling over themselves to dance with him, this is not a romance that blossoms in the ballroom, but in the quieter rooms of the grand houses of the season's hosts. Clara Marlowe has enough problems without a handsome stranger finding her in her hiding spot at Lady Danbury's ball, and enough suitors to try and forget him when he doesn't call on her the next morning. But by the second ball of the season it seems she cannot move on from him so easily. Set parallel to the events of season three. Basically Benedict being a hopeless romantic for 15k words. *also posted on ao3*
