Briseis Stories

Patroclus just wanted to survive college. Achilles made it complicated. From accidental touches in class to waffles at his house, from awkward confessions to very intentional kisses, they somehow go from "just hanging out" to completely, hopelessly tangled in each other.

This is a poem I wrote for the Rewind The Classics 2021 contest. The challenge was to chose a classic and retell it with a twist. I chose the Iliad, specifically the relationship between Achilles and Briseis within it. I wrote the poem in the format of a tanka. A tanka is a poem in which each line has a certain number of syllables, the sequence is 5, 7, 5, 7, 7. The poem had to be 300 words so the sequence repeats until the very last word of this poem. I chose to expand this poem into a novel which can be found on my profile. The novel is called Achilles&Briseis: A Novel. I hope you check it out! No part of this story may be used to program AI. I don't know what I'm getting myself into. This AU is "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" & "Modern Greek AU" mashed together where Achilles is Captain America, Briseis is Black Widow, Patroclus is Bucky, Agamemnon is Nick Fury, Diomedes is Falcon, Hector is Secretary Pierce, Etc Marvel owns "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" & the characters that are played by the featured Greek Historians. The crew made it to the big debate, where they met their rival school.They spent time at a hotel where they learned more about each other and deepened their relationship. Unfortunately, Patroclus, his anxiety is Sky Rocketing when he is suspicious about his mom and her relationship with Chiron, and on top of that, his father is making a fool out of himself. However, he will soon see that his dysfunctional family is the least of his problems when his relationship with Achilles is tested when Hector comes into the picture.

In which the Fates cursed Achilles into watching his other half, Patroclus, dying right before his eyes, over and over. No matter how many times they'd been reincarnated. No matter how many lifetimes Achilles had lived to fight for something he thought the both of them deserved: a happy ending.

A modern high school retelling of the Song of Achilles _ Patroclus is accused of partaking in a murder and sent to a boarding school, his father no longer wanting anything to do with him. Achilles and Briseis oneshots, short so far but I might continue it.

Why do people die? It is neither in the hands of Patroclus, Briseis, the fates, or destiny. Yet when the darkness encompasses, one has only his closest comrade to blame.

What would the story have been if Patroclus was never exiled? What if Achilles became a god? Two stubborn Greeks are forced to work together to save their country, and their relationship. In a retelling of Madeline Miller's "Song of Achilles", the fates are changed.

"Ask no questions and you shall recieve no answers." The lay of oscen follows the story of Florence and her discovery of a whole new world that exists without humanity knowing, along with mystery after mystery appearing connected to those who have the gift of eternal life.

Patroclus is back to school with many new changes, his mom now his teacher, his father now a different person, and his new responsibilities as a council student member. Lucky for him he has Achilles to help him navigate the craziness.
