إيرين : بعد انفصالي كنت بحاجة إلى تغيير في الأجواء كما يحتاج القلب إلى نبض ليستمر كانت وظيفة المربية المقيمة فرصتي للخروج من دائرة الراحة التي حاصرتني طويلاً لكن يبدو أنها دفعتني أبعد مما توقعت... فقد وجدت نفسي في وسط مزرعة أبقار بعيدة عن أي مظهر من مظاهر الحياة المدنية أعمل لدى أرمل متجهم الملامح لا يزال غير مستعد لأن يسمح لشخص غريب أن يمدّ يد العون في تربية أطفاله لكن للأسف لا نملك خيارًا آخر جوش : من أين عثروا على هذه الفتاة؟ ومن يرتدي الكعب العالي في مزرعة ماشية؟ وفوق ذلك إنها نباتية يا إلهي ما زلت لا أصدق أنني سمحت لعائلتي بإقناعي بهذا الأمر إن رأى الناس دخولها وخروجها من منزلي... إن علموا أنها تعيش تحت سقفي... فسيبدأون بالثرثرة البلدة صغيرة والثرثرة فيها رياضة يومية تعلمت كيف أتجاهل الأقاويل لكن إن بدأوا يظنون أنني تجاوزت رحيل زوجتي... فتلك إشاعة لن أستطيع احتمالها.

You know I've always loved the art of handwritten letters and mailing them to you. How happy I'd be to open my mailbox and see a surprise handwritten letter from you... I can't do that anymore so I write them here.

This is a book of poems that I am writing to my best friends. My friends have been there for me all the time. When I've been down and sad, they have been there for me. They've made me smile and laugh when I wanted to cry. I want to thank them. So, I guess, thank you. Thank you for being there for me when I really needed someone.
