It's been two years since Clary left Jace for Simon. Months that Jace has cried himself to sleep, stopped talking and refused eating because of the gap in his heart that Clary ferociously ripped apart. No one was the same. Everything was tense in the Institute but now that Jace is ninteen and old enough to be part of the Clave, they give him a task. To go to Venice, Italy, track down Celeste Cormac and protect her from danger. Celeste Cormac, unlike Clary, has always known of the Shadow world, of Alicante and of the Downworlders seeing as how her only friend, Ruth, is a werewolf. Celeste has lived in Diversorium de Praesidia, a hotel meaning 'Hotel of Protectors' in Latin. But, never knowing her mother because her mother ran off with another man after Celeste was born and the fact that Celeste's first boyfriend had cheated on her and left to move to Australia, she always kept to herself, keeping her walls secure so that she won't end up heartbroken ever again. But, when starting to get threatening letters from someone, she thinks it's just a joke at first but then Celeste find more and more piling at the moment and she calles someone she knows she can trust. When both of them have a few to many holes in their hearts and having to hide away in Italy, where Celeste wasborn and raised, the two run into trouble and a few hearts are stolen along the way. Or will they stay broken and in the end, leave each other without another glance?
